Ellis Beach Regatta 2016

Ellis Beach - Ellis Beach Regatta july 2016

Come one, Come all to the annual Ellis Beach Regatta, 2016!

Preparations have begun for this years event which will be held over the weekend of July 16th and 17th, and will include a long distance marathon race and short course buoy racing. We are hoping for a large fleet of Pacers, Lasers, Nacra 350’s, F18’s, and misc. beach boats and dinghies.

For those without their own boat, we will have boat hire options available for the clubs boats. But as always, first in – first served. Please contact the club to lodge expressions of interest.

For the family, friends, and all those who don’t quite have the same salt-water addiction as the Ellis guys, we hope you will come out for the cold drinks, BBQ meals, and lively atmosphere.

Our amazing behind-the-scenes team have also published our Notice of Race for you all to get your heads around before the big event; please have a read through. Also attached is a copy of the Entry Form for you to print and fill out, however copies will be available at the event.

Oh, and one last thing…

The event planning department would love it if you could spare them a split-second to fill out the Contact Form at the bottom of this post. It will be a massive help to know if you are intending to join us for the weekend 🙂

Happy Sailing!

Calling all Sabot Sailors

Sabot sailing pictureHi,

Josh here from Townsville Sailing Club and North Queensland Sabot Association. I’m currently on the lookout for young Sailors around the North that maybe interested in participating in a  “Sabot Series” that consists of  5 rounds though-out the year at various Regattas’ that most already attend. (Similar to the Nacra Series)

My Question is do you have any juniors in your area that own a sabot? But don’t sail it due to poor fleet numbers and would be interested in dragging them out to compete in this Series that will have them up against larger fleet numbers and the chance to win a prize every round and a Major Presentation at the last Regatta venue?

Do you have any Opti or Bic Juniors that maybe interested in sailing a sabot for part of the year in this series?

NQSA are well underway with planning for the 2015-2016 Wangi Sabot nationals and would like any new and existing sailing members if interested to join us in this Series and get your spot on the NQSA Team for this year’s Sabot Nationals.

If you think there are juniors in your club that would be interested in being a part of this Series Please E-mail me at  norcrash1@tpg.com.au or call on 0410104471
