Ellis Beach - Ellis Beach Regatta july 2016

Come one, Come all to the annual Ellis Beach Regatta, 2016!

Preparations have begun for this years event which will be held over the weekend of July 16th and 17th, and will include a long distance marathon race and short course buoy racing. We are hoping for a large fleet of Pacers, Lasers, Nacra 350’s, F18’s, and misc. beach boats and dinghies.

For those without their own boat, we will have boat hire options available for the clubs boats. But as always, first in – first served. Please contact the club to lodge expressions of interest.

For the family, friends, and all those who don’t quite have the same salt-water addiction as the Ellis guys, we hope you will come out for the cold drinks, BBQ meals, and lively atmosphere.

Our amazing behind-the-scenes team have also published our Notice of Race for you all to get your heads around before the big event; please have a read through. Also attached is a copy of the Entry Form for you to print and fill out, however copies will be available at the event.

Oh, and one last thing…

The event planning department would love it if you could spare them a split-second to fill out the Contact Form at the bottom of this post. It will be a massive help to know if you are intending to join us for the weekend 🙂

Happy Sailing!

***EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST***

G’day Sailors!

Well what a series Lindsay Joyce turned out to be!

With 12 Dinghy/OTB boats participating over the 5 weeks, we got to see one of the largest fleets on the water in the Cairns harbour in many-many years. There was some fantastic sailing from all who participated and a special mention goes out to Mr. Riley Munro, who turned up to every one of the race days, and placed 3rd overall in the series. On-ya Riley!

Now, onto the Future!

As previously posted; the 20th and 21st of February will see the annual re-opening event for our favourite beach-sailing spot, Ellis. The usual agenda is on offer with free camping Saturday night, hot meals throughout the weekend, cold beverages, and of course plenty of amazeballz sailing action over the 2 days. If you are interested in participating in any way, please fill out the below contact form. Your form goes a long way towards the planning of this event!

We are also excited to now offer the newly acquired YQ Optimist dinghy’s (Opti’s) to our junior participants of the Tackers learn to sail program. Please contact us to discuss details.

There are a limited number of club Lasers, Pacers, Nacra 350s and YQ Opti’s available to hire for the day/weekend, so please indicate which vessel you are interested in sailing on the form. As there is now less then 2 weeks to go, requests to hire are coming in thick and fast. So get in quick!!
