Cairns Sailing Training Camp 8th and 9th of August – Ellis Beach
The Cairns Sail Training Camp is part of the Queensland Identification Development Pathway and is a partnership between Yachting Queensland and Cairns Yacht Club.
Cairns Sail Training Camp August 2015
The aim of the camp is to provide high quality coaching opportunities to junior and youth sailors of all levels and to assist local coaches to up-skill. Cost: 1 Day only – $50 per entry 2 Days – $100 per entry Sibling discount for both days only – 2nd sibling $75 and 3rd sibling $50.
LATE PAYMENT FEE $25 if entry & payment is not received by 31st JULY 2015. Camping is available with pricing options shown when registering online.
PLEASE NOTE THAT INVOICES WILL BE SENT TO ENTRANTS INDIVIDUALLY AFTER THEY HAVE ENROLLED. NO CASH PAYMENTS CAN BE MADE ON THE DAY TO THE COACHES. Further details about the camp will be emailed to those enrolled online 1-2 weeks before the camp.
Dinghy Series 3 / 2015 Commences on the Sunday 21st of June at Ellis Beach
Guess what – the weather is great and the sun is shining (most of the time) and series 3 for 2015 commences on the 21st of June as part of the regular Ellis Beach Race Day (Sunday 21st of June)….Pass the word.. The Pacers and Lasers will be available at Ellis Beach …
We will be back in town on Saturday the 27th of June, but as you know in a point score series participation in ever event helps you to win the series.

Ellis Beach Regatta 2015
Firstly, we are crazy-excited to announce (and not to mention show off our new and improved poster) that this years Ellis Beach Regatta will be hosing the NQ Sabot and BIC Junior Traveller Series! A massive thanks goes out to Scott Davis for his efforts on this one, “On Ya, Scotty!”.
Our amazing behind-the-scenes team have also published our Notice of Race for you all to get your heads around before the big event; please have a read through. Also attached is a copy of the Entry Form for you to print and fill out, however copies will be available at the event.
Oh, and one last thing…
The event planning department would love it if you could spare them a split-second to fill out the Contact Form at the bottom of this post. It will be a massive help to know if you are intending to join us for the weekend 🙂

Come one, Come all to the annual Ellis Beach Regatta, 2015!
Preparations have begun for this years event which will be held over the weekend of July 25th and 26th, and will include a long distance marathon race and short course buoy racing. We are hoping for a large fleet of Pacers, Lasers, Nacra 350’s and F18’s, and misc. beach boats.
For those without their own boat, we will have boat hire options available for the clubs boats. But as always, first in – first served. Please contact the club to lodge expressions of interest.
For the family, friends, and all those who don’t quite have the same salt-water addiction as the Ellis guys, we hope you will come out for the cold drinks, BBQ meals, and lively atmosphere.

SAVE THE DATE – Tinaroo Sailing Club Regatta – Long weekend June 6 – 8
An Invitation from our friends from the Tinaroo Sailing Club (TSC) – I hope that our CYC members can join this important regional regatta..
The Tinaroo Sailing Club’s 2015 “(not) The May Day Regatta” will be staged over the long weekend of June 6-8 at the amazing Lake Tinaroo.

The series is open to all ‘off the beach’ sailing craft. Up to 100 entries are expected to take part in the annual pilgrimage to the Lake. Invitation Race at 1230 hrs Saturday 6th.
See the Tinaroo Sailing Club website for On-line nominations and payment (please nominate early to assist with catering). Great family friendly regatta.
Entry fee is $60 per boat for adults and $25 per boat for juniors. Awesome prizes.
Breakfast and lunch will be available every day. BYO dinner.
We encourage participants to camp at the club. TSC has hot and cold showers, toilet facilities and a kitchen for campers’ use during the event.
Also, Yachting Queensland will also be holding a General Meeting scheduled for 10:00am Saturday 6 June at Tinaroo Sailing Club.

Ellis Beach Race Day – This Sunday (29th March)
G’day Sailors! This weekend will see the first of the regular season race days at Ellis Beach on Sunday, 29th March. Races are set to start from 11am, with no starts later than 2pm. We are also very excited to announce that this weekend will see the use of our new amazeballs pie warmer at the Ellis club house. Even if sailings not your thing, why not come down for a hot pie and a cold beverage on the beach? Club Boats: Both of the Nacra 350’s are available to hire. In addition, coming from the club in town will be 3 Pacers and 2 Lasers which can be hired for the day. Please get in quick! With only limited numbers, they are sure to be gobbled up fast. event to be held over the Easter weekend 3-5 April 2015.
Please note that due to Council regulations, there will be no camping
available at the Whitsunday Sailing Club this year.

news relating to the 2015 AllScreens NQ Sabot Series. More information will
be available on the NQSA website in due course.
