Passage Management is essential for everyone's safety and enjoyment on a sailing trip.
During this session we will plan a real-life passage to Lizard Island which will cover the following. If you would like to plan your own passage somewhere then please feel free to do so on the night!
- Preparation/Appraisal: What documents and information are needed in planning the trip (I.e. pilots, charts, weather forecasts, tide tables and requirements)
- Planning: What is the detailed plan (I.e. intended route, navigational hazards, anchorages, alternative anchorages, distance/time, tides and weather, VMR contacts We will also briefly cover:
- Execution: Latest updates before leaving, evaluating risks, communication
- Monitoring and Review: Seeing your plan through to completion (i.e. Close monitoring by watchkeepers, documenting your passage, what worked, what didn't, lessons learnt)
As usual, bookings are essential so we know numbers. CYC members there is no charge as it is part of your CYC membership and Non-CYC Members are $15.
We look forward to another great session! – SheSails team
