The Cairns Yacht Club (CYC) has a long history of dinghy sailing dating back to the early 1900’s.

Over the years many sailors have honed their skills within the dinghy fleet before moving on to the larger keel boats or refining their skills with the CYC Fleet of Multihulls based at Ellis Beach.

The CYC dinghy fleet is under going a revival with increasing interest from juniors and senior alike.

In 2022, the CYC is pleased to be working with the other clubs in the region to host the FNQ School Team Sailing Competition, and it is hoped that over the first few months of 2022, the CYC will be conducting regular training sessions for the School Team sailing teams in Cairns.
