The yachts shall be comDinghybutterflypeting for the prize of the Totally Workwear Trophy and the dinghies for the Mayors Cup.

The regatta is a colourful spectacle of racing sailed on the waters of Trinity Bay, out to Yorkey’s Knob, and around Double Island and Admiralty Island. The races start from inside the Inlet , proceed out through the leads to False Cape,  Yorkey’s Knob, Double Island and around Admiralty Island for the smaller dinghies. The dinghies, multihull boats and keelboats can be viewed from the Marlin Marina as they line up for their starting positions on the start line.  Everyone is welcome to join in the fun with four days of sailing and social events at the end of the days racing.  Check out our website for more info – www.sailcairns.com.au.

In its inaugural year [2015], the Regatta treated tourists and locals leaving on boats to visit the local reefs to a spectacular display of spinnakers at the start of the spinnaker race, as well as the last minutes of the races as the yachts jostled for first place on re-entering the Marina area at the end of the days’ racing.

In 2016 the starts for all races, weather and winds being favourable shall start from out on the water in line with Mondo’s, so tourists and locals can watch the races begin.
