With the local weather conditions, this morning’s high tide peaked 21cm above predicted.

 

Predicted was 3.07m at 0734hrs

Achieved was 3.28m between 0715 – 0726hrs

 

If this continues for the rest of the week, we can expect to see similar inundation to last year with a tide in excess of 3.6m on Thursday around 0930hrs rather than the predicted 3.41m king tide for the year.

 

Cairns HAT is 3.5m, anything above this can create issues primarily along the foreshore.
